This narrative short follows a young father and his daughter as they journey through Birmingham, discovering the city’s deep civil rights legacy. From the historic steps of the 16th Street Baptist Church to the familiar sounds of Green Acres, their walk becomes a living lesson in courage, resilience, and heritage. Along the way, they uncover the stories of Birmingham’s great civil rights leaders and the sacrifices that shaped the community they call home. Created in promotion of Black Night, a citywide celebration of Black culture and history, the film connects generations through storytelling—reminding viewers that understanding where we’ve been is essential to knowing who we are.
